Protests erupt outside Kasba Police station as 3 arrested in alleged Kolkata college gang rape
The rescue of an unconscious, half-naked minor schoolgirl in Gopinagar, near the Haripal BDO office, has caused a stir in the area. Local police responded to the situation and admitted the girl to Haripal Rural Hospital for treatment.
Eyewitnesses said residents found the girl lying in a dark alley. Local women quickly dressed her and attempted to gather information. The girl, who is a student of Golap Mohini Girls School in Singur, reportedly told locals that she had been abducted while returning home from tuition. According to her, unidentified individuals picked her up in a four-wheeler, but she could not recall what happened next.
The girl's family stated that she had recently completed ninth grade and was returning home to Nasibpur Canal Dhar after tuition when she went missing. The family received a call from someone in Haripal informing them about the incident, prompting them to rush to the hospital.
Following the rescue, CPM leaders and workers staged a protest demanding transparency and the arrest of those responsible. The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
